Self-Isolation Reading List

As we’re all spending our days indoors at the moment, it’s easy to feel bored and uninspired

— particularly once you've watched all your favourite Netflix series, and you have accepted that maybe you're not going to start sewing, baking or become a painter (we obviously hope you try to do all of these and more!). Maybe you should get inspired by just reading some good books, here are some suggestions from the best of the advertising industry:

Wabi Sabi by Beth Kempton

It’s a book of Japanese wisdom for a perfectly imperfect life - suggested by Sarah Levitt, art director, Now.

Love in a Time of Cholera by Gabriel García Márquez

Suggested by David Billing, chief creative officer, The Beyond Collective.

Trick Mirror by Jia Tolentino

The author makes very insightful observations on the use of social media and our inability to show solidarity without making it about our personal views and experiences - suggested by Stephania Silviera, Creative Director, Grey London.

The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg

As we transition to a new life working from home, it’s essential to create new habits to make work, work - suggested by Alex Grieve, executive creative director, Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO.

Caught Up by Millie Jackson, and Golden Ring by Tammy Wynette

Suggested by Vicki Maguire, chief creative officer, Havas London.

The Tangled Tree: a Radical New History of Life by David Quammen

Suggested by Gulliermo Vega, chief creative officer, Saatchi & Saatchi London.

We are also asking our members to provide a review of a marketing book they would recommend, see the latest here.

Keep safe and inspired.
