When you picture Nashville, you may immediately think of Country music and all that entails. You can certainly get your fill of music & boots any time you visit, however a visit to Music City can be just as fun without ever stepping on the dance floor at the Wildhorse Saloon, visiting the famous Grand Ole Opry or historic Ryman Auditorium, or making a reservation at the Bluebird Cafe.
Whatever you enjoy, you’ll find Nashville enjoys it too… and is ready to enjoy it with you! Maybe it’s that famous Southern hospitality, or maybe people are just so happy to have planted their roots here!
For that casual visit, below you’ll find some possibly inspirational ways to enjoy your stay.
Sports and concerts
Depending on your timing & length of stay, Nashville always has something going on. We won’t waste time listing all the venues, but you can easily check out what is happening at Bridgestone Arena (concerts, NHL - Predators hockey, etc), Nissan Stadium (NFL - Titans), and the previously mentioned Ryman Auditorium.
Like most cities, there are staples you can visit here too.
Hit these spots to let your friends & family know you’ve been there, whilst making your colleagues jealous in the process.
“I Believe in Nashville” - There are several, but a known favorite is 2702 12th Avenue South and 625 Main Street in East Nashville.
Honky Tonk Highway - Part of Lower Broadway. Plenty of opportunities downtown between 430-330 Broadway.
The John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge - Connecting you to the NFL’s Nissan Stadium from Lower Broadway, this bridge crosses the Cumberland River and gives ample views.
#WhatLiftsYou Wings Mural - This beautiful mural by artist Kelsey Montague gives you a special opportunity to have wings, and let your followers know what lifts you up.
Biscuit Love - Right around the corner from where you had wings, you can find wonderful “bonuts” (biscuit donuts). Enough said.
Cheekwood Botanical Gardens - 10 miles from Downtown, this is a worthy retreat if you have a moment to get away.
The Parthenon - Nashville is home to a full-scale replica of the Parthenon in Athens, but much much closer.
Gaylord Opryland Resort & Hotel - Fun to visit year-round and festively decorated in the winter months. Should the weather not be in your favor, there are plenty of indoor activities too!
Oh yeah, let’s not forget… more food! Martin’s Bar-b-que Joint, Hattie B’s Hot Chicken, The Lovelace Cafe, Nashville Farmers Market, East Nashville Farmers Market, and 12 South Farmers Market INSTAGRAM
Beer and Whiskey
If your visit allows, hit these spots to relax and partake in local brews & spirits. There are more than listed, but this will get you started:
